The problem

Families already help each other. Keeping track is the hard part.

A family spread across London, Toronto, Lagos and Houston runs its projects through a group chat. Pledges are buried in one thread, receipts are photographed in another, and a decision made on Sunday's call is argued about again a month later.

The money usually arrives. The trust is what wears thin.

How it works

One room, from first pledge to final photo.

  1. Open a Family Room

    Your family gets its own private address. The family admin decides who joins and what each person can do.

  2. Plan the project in chapters

    Break a home, a wedding or a degree into chapters, each saying what it needs, so everyone can see what comes next.

  3. Record pledges, then what arrives

    A pledge is a promise the family can plan around. When the money actually arrives, the family treasurer marks it received.

  4. Share proof from the ground

    Whoever is on site posts updates with photos and receipts, under the right chapter, for everyone at once.

  5. Meet and decide

    Family meetings show the agenda in each person's own time zone, take input from those who cannot attend, and keep the decision where anyone can find it.

Private by design

Some things are only for family.

FamRaising is not crowdfunding. There is no public page, nothing is listed, and no stranger can find a family's room or give to it.

Contributions are treated as what they are in most families: tradition, blessing and shared responsibility.
